Tree Talk Tuesday Webinar - Climate-Smart Tree Care
Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM ET
Description: As an arborist, are you curious about how climate change might affect your work? Wondering which trees will thrive as temperatures rise or rainfall patterns shift? This presentation will delve into the basics of global climate, exploring factors that influence the distribution of biomes. We'll discuss why Earth has a gradient from hot at the equator to cold at the poles, why rainforests and deserts are located where they are, and the concept of a rain shadow. You'll learn how to use this information to understand the premise of climate change and its potential impact on your role, including tree selection for climate resilience and the effects on pest and disease distribution and management. While we may not answer all your climate-related questions, we'll equip you with the tools and vocabulary to better understand science and interpret what you read online and in literature.
